This song was intented to be the opening of the 4th album in the cats[in]musique catalogue, and a turning point in the way songs would be composed since a great majority of the songs would add vocals, agressive singing and screams. So, in order to set the mood for this new experience, I thought "a devil's ballad" could be the perfect link between the last track on the 3rd album, "everlasting feelings", and the the brand new album "disruptor : syndrome".
So, "a devil's ballad" introduces all the elements that will be explored and used on the album: industrial beats, granular synths, agressive percussions, ghostly hazes, somber atmospheres, and emotional lyrics that focuses on different themes such as toxic behavior on social media, war conflicts, environmental issues, disconfort with religion, among other topics that could only be used in such an album like this. However, this would mean that the "7 tracks" formula had to be replaced for a much longer process...starting off with "a devil's ballad" that took almost a month to finish (from may 21st to june 20th)! However, I do think the change was inevitable and neccesary for an album like "disruptor : syndrome". Anyway, I sincerely hope you like this new direction. Where will it go from here? It's yet to discover! And that's exactly why I love making music. Never gets boring.
lyrics
♦ L Y R I C S ♦
I'll say, "I died without a name.
Walking alone on broken narrow roads".
And so I carry on.
I'll say, "so here we meet again.
The shadows of my sinful, joyful pain."
And so I carry on.
This is my own recall that I will die alone.
This hollow emptiness, the one I can't repress.
And as the time goes by, I'll sing my last goodbye.
A sinner's symphony. Disruptor sindromé.
